Katarzyna Jablonska

The inspiration for Manchester based artist Katarzyna Jablonska lays within human body and motion. 2013 her works have been shown on Sladyfest: Bodies in Slade Hall, as a part of Didsbury Arts Festival in Café Rouge, and will be exhibited on West Fest in Pomegranate, Manchester.

Based on 2 years private fine art tuition (2006-08), concluded with a collection of self-portraits studying female grace and beauty, her work evolved into figurative pencil drawings inspired by dance. 2013 she is drawing with a group of fine artists led by Joseph While in collaboration with contemporary dancers Joseph Lau and Shona Roberts in “Drawn Together Drawn Apart”. Exploring memory, time and movement captured in space and on paper, this project strongly influenced her artistic endeavours.

To Threshold, inspired by the theme of ‘future city working’, she has contributed with a collection of drawings showing human factor as the central point of the landscape. In her works female grace, beauty and strength counteract the monolithic, structured and complex shells, with the aim to inspire pure and flawless architecture designs, drawing on mind and body relationship.
